Geoffrey Bellamy (1922-1997) was a celebrated bomber during WWII, he flew 112 missions and won the Distinguished Flying Cross and bar. After the war he attended the Birmingham College of Art before studying at the Royal College of Art under Robert Goodden. He graduated in the same year as Gerald Benney and David Mellor before establishing a workshop in west London where, like many of his contemporaries, he was influenced by Scandinavian design and made mostly small designs for retailers such as George Tarratt.
He joined Ivan Tarratt to form the Bellamy & Tarratt production company before winning a Design Centre award in 1961 and joining the Council of Industrial Design in 1964 to encourage good design.
